No can?? Oh crap!

Bad news first: My interisland reservation for my trip to Kauai next month was through Aloha Airlines. Looks like they told everybody, "No can fly." (I knew I should have gone with Hawaiian. Darn it!)

Good news: I finally got my taxes done but I'm only getting back $100. Slightly disappointing.

I guess I could look at it this way. It's gonna pay for the money I lost on my Aloha ticket since I'm possibly not getting reimbursed for it.

As you might have guessed....

I unfortunately don't have any awesome pics of me backstage at the Def Leppard concert.

Kathy didn't get to cut their hair because they couldn't fit it into their busy schedule. You know, being rockstars and all. Pssssh.

BUT -- the concert still kicked major ass. (Like you didn't already know!) REO Speedwagon and Styx also put on a great live show in case you were wondering. And yes, Gabrielle and I were among the younger part of the audience there. It's OK -- we still rocked it out like we always do.

Armageddon It!

Less than two days left til my Def Leppard concert!! Who's excited? This girl.

OK. So speaking of my favorite 80s band of all time -- and I mean of all time -- I overhear this conversation at work today between my coworkers Monica and someone else about doing "their" hair. (They as in Def Leppard.) Not hearing the first part of the conversation and just assuming that we're talking about "their" stylists, I jokingly chime in with "Yeah, I bet they get paid big bucks to do that awesomely big 80s hair."

Monica looks at me and says, "Do you even know what we're talking about?"

I turned and said, "Yeah. Def Leppard's hair stylists right?"

"No. Well. Yeah. Well.......... guess who gets to cut their hair tomorrow?"

"SHUT UP! Don't tell me someone HERE gets to cut their hair!" (My eyes get REALLY scary big and alert as if I just found a pair of Manolo Blahniks at Goodwill or something.)

"Well they're not coming HERE here. Andrea and Kathy are going to the Greensboro Coliseum tomorrow to cut some of the band members' hair."

Again, I tell her to SHUT UP and quit messin' around. You cannot joke about things like that. She just laughs at me.

So I have to get down to the bottom of this nonsense. Is Monica for real or is she just really pullin' my leg like she has been known to do with me (successfully) on many occasions?

Kathy gets done with her client, the client walks out the door and I am on Kathy like white on rice...... "Are you really doing Def Leppard's hair tomorrow?"

"Maybe. I'm still waiting for the guy to call me back."

"What guy? Who do you know? How did this happen?"

"My ex-bf does PR for the G-boro Coliseum. They said they needed their haircut before the concert and he called me to see if I was free to do it and I said yeah."

"OH. MY. GOD. YOU HAVE TO LET ME GO WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!"

At that point I blacked out.

Just kidding. :)

Luckily, I have tomorrow off. So if said opportunity arises, I will definitely make myself available. And I'm conveniently getting my hair done in the morning so I will already be at the salon to tag along at the right moment. I'm very tricky that way. :)

To be continued....

Oh, and I promise I'll blog about my awesome Easter soon. Because it was awesome. And I know I've got to post some of those pics from the hair competition too! I promise I'll be better! But first things first, I'll let you know what happens with the DL scenario.

Fun Times

First things first, I had a GREAT time at the concert on Sunday. Bon Jovi put on such a great show. He performed for almost three hours! That man has more energy than Richard Simmons I think.

Anyway.

Then on Monday I was a hair model for a contest at Utopia. It was pretty cool. You had to create a "look" inspired by wind or water (you know, because they're Aveda/tree-huggers/the most enviromentally-friendly beauty company out there). Andrea wanted me to look like Aquarius (the water bearer) so she did a fingerwave hairstyle complemented by some crazy makeup and she glued some blue and other color sequins on to me so that I looked like I had a few scales going on. It was pretty interesting. I will have to show you guys pictures when I get them back.

I had my final Intro to Massage Therapy class. I will surely miss getting a free massage on Monday nights.

Finally after that I was able to celebrate St. Patty's Day with everyone (they had gotten like a four hour start).

Then I rounded out the night with going to see Shannon and Donovan and finally deliver some much needed baby things that I wasn't able to give them at the baby shower a few weeks back when I was dying from the flu and everything.

Whew.

And that was just Monday!

Livin' On A Prayer

Well, I got everything on my list accomplished except for the taxes.
Surprise, surprise.
And they're not gonna get done today either. I am gonna have a relaxing day off, play with the dogs, get a pedicure and then get ready for my Bon Jovi and Daughtry concert.
My priorities are so in order.

To-Do This Weekend

  • Taxes (boo!)
  • Finalize plane ticket stuff for next month (yay!)
  • Finish mini-album (double yay!)
  • Clean out the car (neutral)
  • Laundry (boo!)
  • Massage with Jennifer (yay! - for the relaxation not for the price)
  • Supplies for massage class (yay!)

All in all, I think the yay! total is bigger than the boo! total so it shouldn't be a bad weekend! ;)

Just a little something

from the other day. It was a nice day outside and the dogs got to play for a long time.

"All Lovin', No Oven"

Yesterday was Tim's birthday. After I got off work, we went out to Pancho Villa's for a little birthday dinner and then to Coldstone for dessert. One of the reasons I love Coldstone is that have such clever names for their ice cream concoctions. Usually I get a "like it" size of "Cookie Doughn't You Want Some" (which of course has cookie dough) but last night I ventured off and tried something new. I got the "All Lovin' No Oven" which has cake batter ice cream (in honor of his birthday), cookie dough, fudge and whipped cream. I had the best sugar high I think I've had in YEARS. Which was of course followed by the worse sugar crash I've had in years.
I almost passed out at 9:30 watching a rerun of Family Guy. Instead I made myself stay up to the respectable hour of 10:30. The extra hour was killer.

This morning we got up and made a VERY important puchase about 30 minutes ago. We bought tickets to see Mr. Jack Johnson at the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh! Oh yeah. Can't wait for August 12.

It's been a very good 24 hours indeed. Happy Birthday, Tim!

Arms and legs -- check

Last night in massage class (I love saying that) we practiced massaging arms and legs. I got SUCH a workout! Whew. I'm having such an awesome time doing something that I've wanted to do for so long.

Next Monday-- Scalp and back massages (I think).

Woohoo!
