More Macro

I am finally posting a few new photos as promised! It was a lot of fun to use this lens and I love the results I got with it. I'm in the processing of going though all images, making any necessary edits, and posting all of them to the Facebook page in the "More Macro" album. Please swing by, leave comments, and let me know which ones are your favorites! Here are some of the fan favorites so far. I'll be putting up some more over the next few days as well. Have a great week!

Blogging from the road

For the next few days I'll be visiting family and friends in North Carolina so the blogging will be on the lighter side. However, I'm hoping I make up for that in pictures very soon!

In the meantime, if you need a little sparkle in your life, feel free to take advantage of the sale going on at Colonial Candle where their Fragrance of the Month happens to be Sparkle and is 25% off til the end of January when you use FOM1 at checkout! Yay for the little things in life that make us happy, right?

Have a great weekend!

Sparkle: Week One

Well, it's been a little over a week since I have started my "One Little Word" and my 365 photography challenge. So far, I'm doing well with each project. Some days it's more challenging than others to find the "sparkle" in every day life. This is more of a personal challenge to me to try to be optimistic, hopeful, etc. and find the silver lining in daily activities when it may not lend itself to finding one. And other days, I take it more literally and integrate it with my photography.

And by the way, the photography challenge hasn't been as much of a challenge as I thought it would be, which is great! (I think having my iPhone handy helps a lot with overcoming that.) And sometimes it's just fun to take pictures of the small details in life just for the heck of it. :)

Last week, I rented a macro lens from Lensrentals.com so that was fun to incorporate. I brought that bad boy out to a wine tasting and just played around with the settings. (I'll be posting some of those pics later.)

And now, a little sparkle for the week.

(Sadly, I'm not sure who I can give credit to for this photo because I found it with Google Images. Sorry!)

New Year. New Fashion.

A few months ago, I wrote a little post about the newest accessory on the market, the Neckalina. Yesterday, I received "The Brendi" in the mail  and I am in love with it. The material is so soft and the necklace is really my style. Please be sure to give some local Cincinnati love (and some NC love -- Val is a transplant from Asheville to Cincinnati) to the ladies over at KaVatee! Tell them Olivia from livvielane photography sent you. :)

PS - I just recently saw on their Facebook page they got a mention on Perez Hilton's blog. Check it out!

Sparkle.

Back when I used to be an avid scrapbooker, I used to stalk peruse a few scrapbooking blogs for inspiration. A few years ago, I found out about the "One Little Word" project on Ali Edwards blog. This year I have decided to participate for the first time ever. And my word is "sparkle." That is my One Little Word for 2012. (If you're not familiar with the One Little Word project, you can read about it here on the Ali Edwards blog.)  A simple little word to inspire and lead me in all aspects of life. It found me last night after presenting itself in a few different ways.... and I finally got the hint. I'm very excited to see all of the sparkle that 2012 has in store.

I'm also excited to be starting a photography project this year. Capturing a photo every day for the rest of 2012 -- starting yesterday.  I have seen other people do this in years past and was very intrigued by the concept. This year, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to get started. You can read more about this here on the official Capture 365 blog. I will be carefully selecting one or two each week to display here on the blog -- some may even have some sparkle. ;)  Mostly it is just for fun and to push me in new ways with my photography.

And now for a little photo inspiration from one of my favorite photographers Alicia Bock. Here's to 2012!
